WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Intersections of Our Lives (Intersections), a collaborative of the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (NAPAWF), In Our Own Voice: National Black Women’s Reproductive Justice Agenda (In Our Own Voice), and the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice (Latina Institute), released its 2025 Reproductive Justice Policy Agenda  (RJ Policy Agenda)

Since 2016, these three leading organizations have partnered to champion civil rights, justice, and reproductive health, under a human rights framework that asserts every person’s right to control their body, sexuality, gender, labor, and reproduction.

The RJ Policy Agenda offers a roadmap for advancing equity and justice that centers the distinct needs of women and gender expansive individuals of color. It is built around three transformative pillars:

  • Healthy Body advocates for bodily autonomy through policies that guarantee access to essential healthcare without discrimination or undue barriers. This includes contraceptive equity, comprehensive sexual education, safe abortion access, gender-affirming care, and resisting the criminalization of bodies;
  • Healthy Families and Communities focuses on strengthening the social and economic foundations that support women of color and their families, such as addressing the wage gap and improving maternal health outcomes; and
  • Healthy Democracy aims to bolster civic engagement and the power of communities of color through expanded voting rights and judicial reforms that uphold diversity and justice.

“We know that women of color bear the brunt of deadly and restrictive abortion laws and xenophobic policies. Our RJ Policy Agenda is a call to action, highlighting the collective needs of our communities and articulating steps toward a more equitable society in which the health and wellbeing of women of color is prioritized and achieved,” said Sung Yeon Choimorrow, NAPAWF’s Executive Director. “Our commitment to justice and human rights remains unwavering despite the threats posed by the incoming Administration.”

“Across the country, Latinos/xs are struggling to access health care, make ends meet, and survive an immigration system that harms them at every turn. The need for true reproductive justice is critical, and we hope that this new RJ Policy Agenda can help guide policy making for the real change that our communities need,” said Lupe M. Rodríguez, Executive Director of National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice. “It’s time for policies that support our whole lives, including better access to the full range of reproductive healthcare, insurance that covers our needs, a path to citizenship, and more opportunities to support families and allow individuals to thrive.”

“As we prepare for a second Trump administration with conservative majorities in both houses of Congress, it is critical that we go into 2025 with a plan to protect access to reproductive health care,” said Regina Davis Moss, President & CEO of In Our Own Voice. “The Reproductive Justice Policy Agenda provides a concrete roadmap on the key pieces of legislation and other priorities needed in order to push back against the dangerous agenda outlined in Project 2025. With our lives on the line, it has never been more urgent to center the policy needs of Black women, girls and gender expensive people.”

As Intersections of Our Lives chart toward 2025, NAPAWF, In Our Own Voice, and Latina Institute remain committed to advancing reproductive justice policies, including accessible and affordable abortion care, addressing the wage gap, and preserving voter rights that will realize healthy bodies, healthy families and communities, and a healthy democracy for all.
